Overview

The RB5009UG+S+IN is MikroTik's heavy-duty home lab router, built from the feedback of MikroTik User Meetings: compact, powerful, with multiple powering options and efficient cooling. You get seven Gigabit Ethernet ports, a 2.5 Gigabit port, a 10 Gigabit SFP+ cage for fibre, and a full-sized USB 3.0 port, all connected to a Marvell Amethyst switch-chip with a 10 Gbps full-duplex line to the quad-core ARMv8 1.4 GHz CPU — almost double the performance of similar-sized models under heavy CPU loads. It can be powered three ways: PoE-in from Ethernet port 1, a DC jack, or a 2-pin terminal on the side. With a simple set of mounting accessories, four of these routers fit in a single 1U rackmount space. The box includes a K-55 screw kit and a 24V 1.5A power adapter, and RouterOS comes preinstalled and licensed. Call AccessStore.lk for a quote — island-wide delivery.

Heavy-duty performance in a compact box

Seven Gigabit Ethernet ports, a 2.5 Gigabit port, a 10 Gigabit SFP+ cage for fibre and a full-sized USB 3.0 port connect through a Marvell Amethyst switch-chip to a quad-core ARMv8 1.4 GHz CPU — almost double the performance of similar-sized models under heavy CPU loads.

Three ways to power it — four fit in 1U

Power it by PoE-in from Ethernet port 1, a DC jack, or a 2-pin terminal on the side. Passive cooling means no fan — the CPU and switch-chip sit on the bottom of the board, so the case itself acts as a massive heat-sink. With mounting accessories, four of these routers fit in a single 1U rack space.

FAQ

RB5009UG+S+IN FAQs

Answers to common questions about this product.

What is the RB5009UG+S+IN?

A heavy-duty home lab router from MikroTik with seven Gigabit ports, a 2.5 Gigabit port, a 10 Gigabit SFP+ cage for fibre, and a USB 3.0 port, powered by a quad-core ARM CPU with 1 GB of RAM. Call AccessStore.lk for a quote.

How is it different from the RB5009UPr+S+IN?

The UG version is the standard model, powered by PoE-in, a DC jack, or a 2-pin terminal. The UPr version adds PoE-out on all eight Ethernet ports, so it can power other devices — the UG cannot.

How can the RB5009UG+S+IN be powered?

Three ways: PoE-in from Ethernet port 1 (802.3af/at, 24–57 V), a DC jack (24–57 V), or a 2-pin terminal on the side (24–57 V).

Can it be rack-mounted?

Yes. It is a compact desktop and wall-mount unit, and with the mounting accessories four of these routers fit in a single 1U rack space.

Does it need a fan?

No. It uses passive cooling — the CPU and the switch-chip sit on the bottom of the board, so the case itself acts as a massive heat-sink.
