The Lite 16 PoE covers the small-office brief at the lowest complexity: 16 gigabit ports, 8 of them PoE+ with a 45W budget, in a compact wall-mountable box with no fan — so no fan noise and no moving parts to fail. It suits a small office, a classroom or a shop running a few access points and cameras, where a rack switch would be overkill. As a Layer 2 switch it handles VLANs and switching, while routing between VLANs is left to the site's gateway or an upstream Layer 3 switch. Management is through the UniFi Network application. Note: this model has no SFP uplink ports and no touchscreen — uplinks run over standard gigabit RJ45.
