The silent, fanless version of the 16-port Cloud Core Router, with 2x 10G SFP+ uplinks for quiet offices and studios.
This is the same idea as the big 16-port CCR2004, but built for places where fan noise is not welcome — an office, a studio, a homelab or a quiet server room. There are no fans at all, so it runs in complete silence, and it still gives you sixteen Gigabit ports plus two 10G fibre uplinks, with each group of ports getting its own full-speed line to the processor so nothing gets choked. It is a bit smaller than its fan-cooled brother and runs on DC power with the included adapter, and MikroTik says it can be around three times as fast as the previous generation CCRs. It stands for passive-cooled — this version has no fans at all, so it runs completely silently, unlike the standard CCR2004-16G-2S+ which has two fans.
Its processor runs at 1.2 GHz instead of 1.7 GHz, but it still delivers full CCR2004 performance for small and medium businesses, and MikroTik rates it up to three times faster than the previous generation CCRs.
