This is a clever one: instead of buying a separate router box, you slot a real MikroTik Cloud Core Router straight into your server as a PCIe card. You get two super-fast 25G fibre ports plus a Gigabit port for management, and the whole thing runs proper RouterOS, so you can set up firewall rules, routing and traffic control right inside the server without extra hardware taking up rack space. It can push wire-speed traffic with jumbo frames, so it will not slow your server down, and it draws its power straight from the server itself, so there is no extra power supply to find room for. No — this is a PCIe card that fits inside a server. It gives your server full RouterOS routing, firewall and traffic control without needing a separate router box.
Two 25G SFP28 fibre ports and one Gigabit Ethernet port. The PCIe connection itself shows up as four virtual Ethernet interfaces: two pass straight through to the 25G ports, and two are bridged with the Gigabit port for management access.
It is supported on Linux hosts with kernel 5.15.25 or newer and on RouterOS version 7.x hosts. It is powered directly by the server through the PCIe slot, so it needs no separate power supply.
It can reach wire speed with jumbo frames, so in most server setups the card will not be the bottleneck. It has a quad-core ARM processor and 4 GB of RAM for firewall, user management and traffic control work.
The card takes a little time to boot up compared to a plain network card, so if your server starts before the card is ready, it may not appear. Setting a short PCIe device start-up delay in the BIOS fixes this, or the PCIe devices can be re-initialised from the host system.
