The Switch 16 PoE is the smallest switch in this batch: 16 gigabit ports, 8 of them PoE+ with a 42W budget, and two 1G SFP uplinks, in a compact 200 mm-deep chassis. It suits a small office, a shop or a branch room running a few access points and cameras, where a 24- or 48-port switch would be mostly empty. Fanless cooling keeps it silent and removes the most common moving-part failure. As a Layer 2 switch it handles VLANs and switching, while routing between VLANs is left to the site's gateway or an upstream Layer 3 switch. Management is through the UniFi Network application, with a touchscreen on the front panel for local status. Note: this model has no Etherlighting and no RPS power-backup input.
