    Overview

The Switch Pro Max 48 PoE combines 32 gigabit ports and 16 multi-gigabit 2.5G ports with four 10G SFP+ uplinks, so a full floor of access points, cameras, phones and workstations can run off one switch while the uplinks stay uncongested. Every RJ45 port delivers PoE, with a 720W total budget that covers high-draw devices such as PTZ cameras and multi-radio access points alongside standard PoE gear. Etherlighting ports illuminate to show port location, speed and link state and native VLAN, which makes tracing a cable or spotting a dead port a glance job instead of a hunt through the rack. Layer 3 switching with inter-VLAN routing keeps traffic segmented without a separate router for every VLAN, and the 1.3-inch touchscreen with AR management puts live port status on the front panel. A USP RPS DC input keeps the switch running through a power-supply failure, and the whole unit is managed from the UniFi Network application alongside the rest of the site.

    FAQ

Switch Pro Max 48 PoE FAQs

Answers to common questions about this product.

How many devices can this switch power?

All 48 RJ45 ports supply PoE, with a 720W total budget. That covers a mix of access points, cameras, phones and other PoE devices — the exact device count depends on how much power each device draws, so check the per-device draw against the 720W budget.

What is the difference between the gigabit and 2.5G ports?

The 32 gigabit ports suit standard endpoints, while the 16 multi-gigabit 2.5G ports suit high-throughput devices such as WiFi 7 access points and multi-gig workstations. The four 10G SFP+ ports are uplinks to a core or aggregation switch.

    What does Etherlighting do?

Etherlighting ports light up to indicate port location, speed and link state and the port's native VLAN, so you can identify a port and its status at a glance in a dense rack.

Is this a Layer 3 switch?

Yes. It supports Layer 3 switching with inter-VLAN routing, so VLANs can route between each other on the switch itself without every VLAN needing a separate router hop.

How is it managed, and what happens if the power supply fails?

It is managed from the UniFi Network application, with a touchscreen on the front panel for local status. A USP RPS DC input provides power-supply redundancy when paired with a UniFi Power Backup unit.
