Ubiquiti U6 Enterprise WiFi 6E Tri-Band Access Point

It is a tri-band WiFi 6E AP: it adds a 6 GHz radio to the usual 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios, with 10 spatial streams in total (2x2 on 2.4 GHz, 4x4 on 5 GHz and 4x4 on 6 GHz). The extra 6 GHz band gives compatible devices more spectrum with less interference from older networks.

It supports 600+ concurrent clients. Rated rates are 573.5 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, 4.8 Gbps on 5 GHz and 4.8 Gbps on 6 GHz — a 10.2 Gbps aggregate over-the-air rate. Real-world speed depends on the client device, distance and interference, and the wired uplink is a single 2.5 GbE port.

It is powered by PoE+ over its 2.5 GbE uplink port, so it needs a PoE+ switch or a compatible PoE+ injector. A standard non-PoE switch alone will not power it.

It is managed through the UniFi Network Application. It can be adopted with the UniFi mobile app as a standalone AP, but full multi-AP features (roaming, mesh, central policy) come from running it under a UniFi Network controller — a UniFi OS console or the self-hosted application.

6 GHz operation is country-dependent: Ubiquiti notes it is supported only in listed countries. Confirm 6 GHz availability for Sri Lanka before planning a deployment around the 6 GHz radio; the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios work regardless.
