The BaseStation XG is built for crowds, not offices. Three 4x4 radios on 5 GHz — including one dedicated security and monitoring radio — serve up to 1,500 clients, while the dual-mode antenna array switches between a focused 15 dBi beam and a wide 10 dBi beam to suit the venue. Its IP67 enclosure and pole/wall mounting suit stadiums and large halls. Note it has no 2.4 GHz radio: pair it with other APs where 2.4 GHz coverage is still needed.

Very large, very dense venues — stadiums, arenas, large halls. It is a tri-radio WiFi 5 unit with 12 spatial streams and a 1,500-client rating, far beyond a normal office AP.
No. All three of its 4x4 radios operate on 5 GHz (one is a dedicated security/monitoring radio), so it serves 5 GHz clients only. Sites still needing 2.4 GHz coverage must provide it with other APs.
An integrated dual-mode antenna array: a 15 dBi "small cell" mode with a 50° beam for focused coverage, and a 10 dBi "large cell" mode with a 90° beam for wider coverage, selected for the venue layout.
One GbE RJ45 port plus one 1/10 Gbps ICM Ethernet port, powered by 802.3bt PoE at up to 31 W. It needs a PoE++ (802.3bt) source — a standard PoE/PoE+ switch will not power it.
It is a legacy WiFi 5 product. It suits existing UniFi venues that need a matching high-density unit, but new deployments should generally choose a current WiFi 6/6E/7 model instead.
