The WAN Switch solves a specific high-availability problem: two UniFi gateways running in Shadow Mode need to share one ISP connection, and this switch sits between them and the ISP so that if the primary gateway fails, the secondary takes over without re-cabling or manual intervention. Three 10G SFP+ ports carry the gateway links and the ISP uplink, with a gigabit RJ45 port for management or a slower link. Dual AC inputs give the switch itself power redundancy, and the 1U rack form factor matches the gateways it serves. This is not a general-purpose access switch — it has only four ports, and it exists to make a gateway pair behave as one resilient WAN edge.
